0:17.0	and that number could possibly rise to eight teams each in the NFC and AFC thanks to
0:24.9	a new contingency plan unanimously approved by league owners yesterday.

0:31.1	If games are canceled due to COVID that can't be made up before the start of the playoffs,
0:35.9	the contingency plan would go into effect
0:38.7	with a 16-team playoff field. Get it? Got it? Good. All right. Well, this proposed scenario
0:45.2	would only become a reality if the league cannot first complete the meaningful games rescheduled
0:51.9	in a possible week 18. All right. So essentially, playoff expansion will only come about as a third option in the event the league can't complete the 256 games season as scheduled within 17 or 18 weeks,
1:07.0	with the 18th week added solely to complete the complete schedule prior to postseason
1:14.2	play.
1:15.3	Now, according to NFL Network's Tom Pellisero, owners also approved a resolution that will
1:21.3	award NFL team's compensatory third-round picks if clubs lose minority coaches and or front office executives to head coaching
1:29.9	or general manager jobs elsewhere. The approved resolution is subject to NFL Players Association
