Amazon is freezing corporate hiring in its retail business for the remainder of the year.

In an internal announcement obtained by the New York Times, Amazon told its recruiters to halt

global hiring for all corporate roles. This includes technology positions as well as physical

and online retail positions. Recruiters were also told

to close all job openings in those specific departments, which totaled 10,000. And Amazon isn't

alone. Meta, Facebook's parent company, told employees last week that it was freezing hiring for most

positions.

These are all precautionary measures as companies wait to see the state of our economy.
