These days it feels like you can't eat anything without getting sick. An E. coli outbreak at McDonald's

has sickened 50 people and has caused one death.

The CDC has issued a food safety alert and says the E. coli is linked to quarter pounders and more

specifically, the onions on the burger. There have been 10 states with reported illnesses,

though most of them are in Colorado and Nebraska.

In some states, McDonald's has stopped using the onions and the quarter-pounder beef patties

while the investigation continues.

Between E. coli and Listeria, it honestly feels like we can't trust anything that we eat anymore.

So before I give you the bad news, I want to give you some good food news. Most of the things that we're talking about haven't impacted

a ton of people. Like Carlin Marie just said, this McDonald's E. coli problem is obviously terrible

because it killed one person, but it doesn't seem like it's a widespread issue. Not yet, at least.
