| 0:19.0 | Yes it was, and I'm not talking about counting votes. |
| 0:21.8 | I'm talking about the elections for leadership of the caucuses in the United States Congress, |
| 0:26.8 | because Christians often don't recognize how important those leadership elections actually |

| 0:33.1 | When you're looking at the legislation that is passed or the legislation that is not passed, |
| 0:36.7 | a great deal has to do with who is leading the caucuses in the majority and in the minority |
| 0:42.8 | in both the House and the Senate. |
| 0:44.8 | First, let's look at the House of Representatives. |
| 0:46.9 | At this point, even President Biden is conceding that Republicans are almost certain to have |
| 0:52.2 | a majority. |
| 0:53.2 | Now it's going to be a very thin majority, and that's going to turn out to be crucial. |
| 0:56.8 | But nonetheless, the Republican caucus had its vote for its party leadership, and the |
| 1:02.8 | Republican caucus in the House elected or technically reelected Kevin McCarthy, US representative |
| 1:09.7 | from California and California's District 23 as the Republican leader going into the |

| 1:15.9 | And that would mean, or at least under normal circumstances, should mean that Kevin McCarthy, |
| 1:22.3 | even the Republican majority, would be the next speaker of the House of Representatives. |
