The Core 4. The four headlines you need to know. NPR and three Colorado public radio stations are suing the Trump administration.

The suit is over an executive order that aims to block federal funding to NPR and PBS. The media outlets are calling it

unconstitutional retaliation. Trump claims NPR and PBS are pushing left-wing propaganda

and misusing taxpayer money. NPR has fired back saying this is political retribution, plain and simple,

and they're not backing down.

PBS isn't part of the suit just yet, but they are weighing legal action.

The president of NPR said, quote, the executive order is a clear violation of the Constitution

and the First Amendment's protections for freedom of speech and association and freedom of the press.

End quote.

The stations involved, Colorado Public Radio, Aspen Public Radio, and KSUT, which serve several tribal communities, say this is about defending press freedom and editorial independence.

Texas could become the first state to ban social media for people under 18.

The most interesting part of the possible new law is a provision that would allow parents to ask social media companies to delete their child's account.
