| 0:19.6 | what took place yesterday in an elementary school in the small Texas town of |
| 0:24.4 | Uvalde. A gunman we are now told was 18 years old, |
| 0:28.6 | entered that school intending to create and to commit premeditated murder and to bring about a massacre. |
| 0:36.0 | He killed 14 students and at least one teacher. |
| 0:39.5 | Others are wounded so that death toll may actually mount. |
| 0:42.7 | The staggering toll of these deaths underlines the fact that we now know this was the largest |
| 0:47.3 | school-based mass shooting in Texas history. |
| 0:50.4 | And you have to go back in American history all the way to 2012 and the killing of so many children again in an elementary school. |
| 0:59.0 | That time in Connecticut, this time now in the state of Texas. |
| 1:04.1 | The news is basically straightforward, at least in terms of what we know. |
| 1:07.6 | We've seen so many of these stories before. |
| 1:09.2 | An 18-year-old gunman, the Associated Press says, open fire at a Texas elementary school and we're now |
| 1:15.1 | told that the Texas governor has confirmed 14 children dead, one teacher |

| 1:23.0 | it was the deadliest shooting in a U.S. grade school since the shocking attack in Sandy Hook, Connecticut, almost a decade ago. |
