President Biden and House Speaker McCarthy's debt ceiling meeting yesterday unlike their meeting last week

It apparently went well McCarthy who had been pretty pessimistic about you know the two sides reaching a deal

He said quote it is possible to get a deal done by the end of the week

That's progress. They both appointed their top negotiators to get into the weeds on their behalf

Again if you don't know the story they're trying to come up with some sort of

Compromise to prevent the country from defaulting on our debts and they have a matter of days to figure something out

Defaulting on those debts could ultimately be pretty bad for our economy

Because of the importance of this issue and the tight timeline president Biden has shortened his g7 trip to Japan this weekend

He's still going today, but he's gonna come back sooner than originally planned. They got to get it done
