In the past day, we've learned a lot more about the tragic shooting in a Boulder,

Colorado grocery store on Monday afternoon. 10 people died in the shooting,

ranging from 20 to 65 years old. And the shooter was identified as a 21-year-old man named Amad

Alivia Lissa. According to the arrest warrant, he used an AR-15 and he'd purchased six days before

the shooting. Police have yet to determine a motive, but honestly, I'm not sure why it matters

when he shouldn't have been able to get a military grade assault rifle in the first place.

In response to the shooting, President Biden gave a speech yesterday where he ordered flags,

flown in half-staff, and urged the House and Senate to immediately tighten gun laws.

Specifically, he said that assault weapons and high capacity magazine should once again be banned,

and that loopholes in background checks should be closed.

After AstraZeneca released results on Monday, of its study claiming that their vaccine was found

to be 79% effective, an independent panel that reviews clinical trials called the data and

safety monitoring board. Made in an announcement, late Monday night, expressing concern that AstraZeneca

presented outdated and potentially misleading data on its vaccine, which made it appear more

effective than the full data shows. The letter was signed from 11 leading statisticians, infectious

disease physicians, and ethics experts appointed by the National Institutes of Health to review

the trial data. In the letter, the panel claimed that they had seen data showing the vaccine

maybe 69-74% effective, rather than 79%. I think AstraZeneca needs to stop acting like a 5-10

guy writing that he's six feet on his dating app profile.
