Hey friends, welcome back. We're in Second Kings chapter one today. Got my good cup of coffee.

Just finished some Mexican food for lunch with the Smith family.

Had a great time. Good old dear friends from Pennsylvania visiting the area. But we're in

second king, chapter one. We just began this book last episode and we talked a bit about this man named Ahaziah who is the son of

Ahab he has fallen from through the lattice of his upper chamber and is injured the Bible calls him

diseased and he doesn't know whether he's going to live or die. And he sends a message to

the God of Ekron, Balesabab. Sounds like an ominous name. And God comes to Elijah and says to

Elijah, intercept the messengers and let them know that because you did not seek

the true God of Israel and you're seeking a false God from another country, you will not recover.

So here is Ae Aeziah.

And I mean, he is in a bad way.

Not only militarily, his country has been defeated by Syria,

not only economically, he is now not receiving tax revenue from Moab, but also physically,

he has fallen and can't get up. So you would think that in this kind of a situation, he would turn to God.

But pride is a stubborn thing, isn't it?
