You know how a lot of people say the true mark of a friendship is no matter how much time has passed, like nothing really changes.

Yes. And they make it

sound like a good thing, right? I'm here to tell you that it's not always a good thing. Sometimes

your embarrassing characteristics still pop up when you meet up with your old friends.

So yesterday, I'm here in New Jersey. I've mentioned that before. I met up with a couple of my old high school friends. The three guys that I used to hang out with basically like every weekend from the time we were sophomores in high school to, I don't know, when we all got real jobs after college. It's cute. The one thing my friend Drew and I were really good at was arguing about the stupidest things in the world.

I don't think we ever had a legitimate argument in our entire friendship, but we yelled at each

other a lot. And that came out again last night. We were yelling about the dumbest sports things

that you could imagine, whether or not old NBA is better than new NBA, whether or not you could hit a fastball, whether, like all these things. And even if we agreed, it still sounded like we were yelling at each other. It sounds like I would have hated to be in this presence. Yeah, you probably would not have liked it very much. But then one of my other friends,

Greg leaned back from the table and he's cracking up and he was like, honestly, it feels like we just time traveled 15 years. And I'm listening to you guys argue 15 years. Like nothing has changed. It's cute. I love that for you though. It is like it's always good to do that. It was good. And I feel like I've said this before.

But sometimes when you're home, when you're with your hometown people, like you get, I don't know, you recharge your batteries a little bit. Yeah. For some people, it's the opposite. I'm lucky where when I come home, whether it's my friends or my family or my hometown, I do get to recharge. And it does bring me back, which I love. But are you ready to come back to Seattle or what?
