Gas prices are high.

You know that already.

It's not news.

But as bad as it is at the pump here in the States, Europe is paying even more than we are.

A lot of that comes from the sanctions the world has placed on Russia since their invasion of Ukraine back in early February.

At the moment,

the U.S. and our European allies were planning on completely ending their use of Russian oil by the end of this year. It's important to note, by the way, that Russia's invasion of Ukraine

has the financing available to continue mainly based on the incredible amount of wealth

the country brings in thanks to oil

exports. But as oil prices continue to climb, some experts believe that completely cutting off

Russian oil from most of the world would create an oil shortage and push oil prices to

almost $200 a barrel. And that's not good for anyone. So a new plan is in the works.

Instead of completely cutting off their supply of Russian oil, group of seven leaders have come up

with a different plan that could actually serve to reduce the price of gas around the world.

In this new plan, the goal would be to get every nation that buys Russian oil to work together and force Russia to sell the product at lower than market prices.
