Good morning, friends, and welcome back to

Everyday Truth and today's episode. We are in Matthew chapter three and looking forward to

talking about the baptism of John, but more importantly, the time when Jesus was baptized and why and what was God teaching. Let's find out

all about it today. So Matthew chapter 3, we left you last episode talking about John's

confronting of people ahead of their baptism. Remember, the baptism of John was the baptism of repentance,

and people had to come in humility, confessing their sins,

and realizing that this was typically the prerogative of the religious leaders in Jerusalem

to baptize people.

And the people they would baptize would be those that were converting to Judaism.

So John baptizing other Jews, this is just a confusing thing.

And who gave him that authority?

So they actually sent delegations from Jerusalem to kind of vet out.

John, you know, is this really your prerogative?
