We want to get right to the desperate search

for survivors. Nine skiers are missing after getting caught in a massive avalanche of California.

Trevor. Good morning, Michael. And there are more than 50 miles of roadblocks that are set up because the conditions have just been so dangerous.

We peeled off to show you some of the snow at 2,500 feet, but these missing skiers are easily 5,000 feet higher or more.

We're talking about more than a dozen people with multiple guides with them that now at least half of them appear to be buried.

And sadly, this has the potential

to be one of the deadliest avalanches in decades. This morning, the desperate search for nine

missing backcountry skiers buried by a major avalanche in Northern California.

Medical for avalanche in the area of Castle Peak reported as nine to ten people.

The buried three others attempting to dig them out.

Search teams now urgently hunting for survivors in the Sierra Nevada's,

where law enforcement says a group of 15 people were in the Castle Peak area midday Tuesday when that avalanche occurred.
