The Biden administration has announced that 2020 will officially end in May.

On May 11th, the public health emergency issued in response to COVID-19 will end after

just shy of 40 months.

Ending the declaration means that the government will no longer foot the bill for COVID tests

or vaccines.

Other changes stemming from the end of the pandemic response include the reduction of

Medicare payments to hospitals, increased out-of-network costs for Medicare enrollees,

and disenrollment of potentially millions for Medicare.

It could also bring the end of Title 42, which allows officials to quickly turn migrants

away at the border.

The Trump-era policy has been caught in long-running litigation, with the Supreme Court expected

to issue a ruling on it in June, unless the clock strikes midnight on it, too, in May.
