Hey there from the KUOW Newsroom. This is Seattle Now. I'm Patricia Murphy. Here are today's top stories. It's Wednesday, October 16th. As ballots go out across Washington State, Green Party

candidate Jill Stein is campaigning in Seattle. She's hoping to win over voters, frustrated with the

Biden administration, sending arms and troops to support Israel.

Things can flip in a completely unexpected way. That's not to say that we should hold our breath that we're going to win the election. I just wouldn't rule it out. And the harder we work, the higher we will achieve.

Stein spoke to about a hundred supporters last night

at Washington Hall. She was joined by former Seattle City Council member Shama Sawwant, who's been

rallying with her in Michigan. Sawwant has very publicly said, however, that she doesn't think

Stein can win. Her support for the Green Party is more to, quote, punish Vice President Harris

for the Biden administration's support of Israel's war in the last year. So wont told supporters

Harris deserves to lose, quote, a thousand times over. In other election news, a new poll

shows that Vice President Kamala Harris has very strong support here in Washington.

57% of Washington voters surveyed said they'd vote for Harris compared to 35% for Donald Trump.

In mid-July, before he dropped out of the race, President Biden had 50% support.

The new poll was conducted by Survey USA and sponsored by the Seattle Times,

King 5, and the U-dubs Center for an informed public. The Seattle Times reports that 10 percent of

respondents who supported Trump four years ago say they'll vote for Harris in November. The
