Good afternoon. We're back from our Veterans Day pause with a lot of news to cover. From the KUOW Newsroom,

this is Seattle now. I'm Paige Browning. Coming up, how the federal government shutdown is having an especially

hard impact on our local naval town, Bremerton.

First, the roundup of today's top stories. It's Wednesday, November 12th.

The race for Seattle mayor is looking more decisive today in favor of Katie Wilson.

In the latest results out this afternoon, Wilson is leading incumbent Bruce Harrell by 0.7 percentage points.

They're technically out of the mandatory recount territory, but the results are not certified.

As soon as the results dropped, Mayor Harrell's office sent an email that tomorrow at noon,

he'll provide an address to the people of the city of Seattle.

The number of ballots left to count appears to be smaller than Wilson's lead, but the county is still contacting more than 1,000 voters who need to cure their ballot,

which usually means they forgot to sign the ballot.
