Flooding is causing evacuations, road closures, and rivers to rise. We have a lot

drenched day. First, Governor Bob Ferguson has issued a statewide emergency declaration in response to the intense flooding

Washingtonians are experiencing this week. And as Noel Gaska reports, emergency responders are

preparing for evacuations. Robert Azel is the director of the Washington Military Department's

Emergency Management Division. He says a number of rivers are expected to

reach or exceed record flood levels, including the Skagit River in northwest Washington.

So what that means is, and what we're hearing from the county, is they're preparing to evacuate

75,000 people who are living in the low-lying areas.
