Today is Wednesday, September 19th, 2018.

This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we have been talking about evangelization

and our call to share our faith because it is the truth and we love others so we want them to experience the truth

as well. Yesterday we talked about the first way that we can evangelize and that is through actions

by simply living out our faith and not hiding it and allowing others to see how important it is to us and how it shapes our life.

Today we are going to talk about possibly the more obvious way to evangelize by sharing it with words.

Now there are lots of ways that we can evangelize our faith by talking about it.

Possibly the best way to do this is to have a personal and private conversation with the person

you love. Very rarely does going out on a street corner and shouting about our faith truly change anyone's hearts.

Of course, that's good. And of course, we should love our faith so much that we're excited

to shout about it from the street corner. But people are most changed and most tempted to take

on our faith through a loving friendship.

Now, there are lots of ways to engage in conversation about the faith,

but I want you to think about something that comes before this.

In order to be good evangelists and share our faith, we need to make sure that we understand our faith.

The only way to effectively understand and share with someone what we believe is to truly believe it

and understand it ourselves. One of the key points I want to talk about

today is the Eucharist. Now, whether you are old enough to receive the Eucharist at Mass or not,

I hope you believe with me something that is an absolute cornerstone of our faith.

And that is that the bread and wine are not symbols of Jesus's body and blood.
