President Biden signed the Respect for Marriage Act Tuesday afternoon, with thousands gathered

on the south lawn of the White House to witness history. The bill received rare bipartisan

support in both the Senate and the House. The purpose of the act is to make sure that all

same-sex married couples have their union recognized in every state and are afforded all

federal benefits. The intensified effort to pass these protections came in response to

the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade and give states the ability to deny abortions.

As soon as Biden signed the bill, Lady Gaga's born this way started bumping from a speaker.

Now that's what I call good government.

As we mentioned yesterday, former crypto kingpin Sam Bankman Fried was arrested Monday,

and on Tuesday his indictment was unsealed by the Southern District of New York.

Bankman Fried has been charged with lying to investors, wire fraud on customers and lenders,

and conspiring to defraud the United States and violate campaign finance laws.

He's also been slapped with civil charges from the Securities and Exchange Commission and was

denied bail by a judge in the Bahamas. The congressional hearing for FTX, his failed company,

still went on without him Tuesday, with the new head of the company saying it was a case of,

old-fashioned embezzlement. I don't know. Vintage has its time in place, but not when it comes to crime.

And some good economic news, inflation may have finally peaked according to Bloomberg News.

The consumer price index rose only 0.2% in November. The smallest monthly increase since August 2021,
