Sam Bankman Fried, known as SBF, founder of Defunct Crypto Exchange FTX, was scheduled

to testify virtually before Congress yesterday from his home base in the Bahamas, but he

was otherwise engaged.

Bahameen police arrested SBF at the request of U.S. prosecutors Monday evening.

FTX was worth $32 billion earlier this year, but filed for bankruptcy last month, and

court filings show it owes billions of dollars it doesn't have to over one million creditors.

Prosecutors say Mr. B.F. built a house of cards on a foundation of deception and charged

him with eight criminal counts, including conspiracy to commit securities fraud and wire

fraud.

FTX's new CEO tasked with handling its bankruptcy, told Congress yesterday that the crypto

giant was run by grossly inexperienced and unsophisticated individuals who failed

to implement virtually any of the systems or controls that are necessary.
