Jack Dorsey is stepping down into the lowly territory of being CEO of just one publicly

traded company.

At Jack, founder and CEO of both Twitter and Square announced his resignation from the

social media giant on Monday via Twitter and said he'd leave its board in quote,

mayish, unquote.

He served as CEO from 2006 to 2008, and again since 2015.

During his second stint, Twitter grew and became more profitable, but has also suffered

from more impressive big brother syndrome with Meta, Facebook, $3.6 billion in profit

is less impressive when it's put next to $86 billion.

Pere Agrawal, who started with Twitter 10 years ago as an engineer, has replaced Jack

as CEO and Jack will devote more time to his payment processing company Square.
