| 0:00.0 | It's Wednesday, August 9, 2023. I'm Albert Mueller, and this is the briefing. A daily |
| 0:10.5 | analysis of news and events from a Christian worldview. Bad news out of Ohio yesterday |
| 0:16.0 | and into last night. It had to do with an election held there in Ohio with a very particular |
| 0:21.9 | purpose, one basic question before the electorate there. And that was whether or not to change |
| 0:28.1 | and in this sense to raise the level of votes necessary to amend the state's Constitution. |
| 0:34.2 | Now, you might say, what's that got to do with abortion? Well, in this case, virtually |
| 0:38.0 | everything. Because the background of this is that in November, the voters there in |
| 0:42.3 | Ohio are going to be facing the question of abortion, and they're going to be facing |
| 0:46.9 | it by a pro-abortion movement that is trying to put in the Ohio Constitution a far more |

| 1:16.6 | most important thing for us to see is that the issue of abortion is exploding all over |
| 1:20.7 | this country in ways that the pro-life movement in one sense asked for, but is clearly not |
| 1:26.3 | ready for. When I say the pro-life movement asked for this, I mean, we were working hard |
| 1:31.7 | for a matter of decades for the reversal of the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision. |
| 1:36.2 | That 1973 decision infamous as it deserves to be established a woman so-called right to |
| 1:42.1 | an abortion, it made it very difficult for states throughout the term of a woman's pregnancy |
| 1:46.7 | basically to limit access to abortion and thus to protect unborn human life. The reversal |
| 1:52.5 | of Roe v. Wade came, well, just over a year ago, and that opened the door for states to |
| 1:57.2 | move towards more restrictive laws on abortion laws that would protect unborn life. Ohio |
