And this came to me as I was listening to the show the other morning,

and there was a back and forth between you and Dan Roach,

and you seemed really puzzled by the fact that Dan had given his wife a compliment that morning.

And you seemed thrown off by the whole idea of just complimenting your wife.

Empty compliments.

Complimenting anyone.

It just didn't seem to be in your nature.

So, you know, this isn't just me.

We workshop this, you know, the entire show.

And it was actually intern Nick who came up with, you know, the name of what we're going to do here today, Fred, to kind of like help you through this.

It's, it's almost like an intervention of sorts, but it's a workshop.

It's a whole thing.

Fred is a jerk, especially at work, but he doesn't care most of the time.

That's why this morning we'll put Fred through the compliment combine.

We'll have to do it twice, maybe even thrice, until he sounds like he's almost nice.
