0:22.5	The Core 4. The four headlines you need to know. Yesterday, Kansas voters rejected a measure that would have amended their state constitution to remove a protected right to abortion.
0:35.5	Kansas was the first state to let voters weigh in on abortion since
0:39.2	the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, and 60% of them voted to keep their right to abortion.
0:46.1	Kansas law limits abortions after 22 weeks to cases where the pregnant person's life is in danger.
0:51.8	The state also requires an ultrasound before a procedure.
0:55.9	The first of two updates that I have for you today is about Nancy Pelosi's trip to Taiwan. If you

1:06.5	her official itinerary, many expected Pelosi to become the highest-ranking American official
1:11.5	to visit the island since 1997. President Biden, the U.S. military, Chinese diplomats, and the
1:18.1	Chinese military all advised against the trip due to the strained relationship between Taiwan and
1:24.0	China. And yesterday, Pelosi touched down in Taiwan anyway. She went on to meet with
1:29.5	and praise Taiwan's president who China believes is pushing for independence, which is a big no-no for
1:35.2	them. The Speaker of the House also made a speech to Taiwan's parliament, calling it one of the
1:39.9	freest societies in the world. Considering China claims Taiwan to be one of their territories,
