Every now and then, I leave the house without a belt. In fact, not too many weeks ago, I was

coming to church early on a Sunday morning, and I forgot my belt. So I'm calling my wife,

hey, honey, when you come to church, please bring my belt. Why? Because embarrassing things can

happen if you don't have a belt on. But let's face it,

in today's world, a belt is a little bit more decorative than essential. But in spiritual armor

We are talking about spiritual warfare today,

and we began the discussion yesterday,

and anytime I talk about spiritual warfare,

I just kind of feel a little bit edgy

because it's a reality that there is a world around us and about us that we can't see.

That is very real.

And as real as you are and I am, that unseen world exists. And the Bible says it is against that world

that we battle. And we find glimpses of it all throughout the Bible. Even a couple chapters

ago in Ephesians 3, excuse me, we talked about how God even uses the church to teach things to the unseen world of principalities and powers.

We learn in Romans 8 that principalities and powers cannot keep us from the love of God.

We know throughout the Bible that there are an unseen host of angels and demons.

I think about the illustration in the book of Daniel.

Where Daniel received that answer to his prayer, he thought late.

But remember that the angel said, I encountered the prince of Persia, the demonic ruler of that realm.
