And we always start with the top story. There's a lot of news coming out of the

war in Ukraine this week. Ukraine has had some success with a counter-offensive

pushing their way into Russia. They reportedly assembled thousands of troops.

I read possibly up to 12,000 on the border

over the last couple weeks, without Russia even noticing.

And they've spent the last few days

entering the Kursk region of Russia.

Yesterday a Russian spokesman said they stopped Ukrainian forces from advancing any further

and condemned the advance.

But a Ukrainian spokesman said, quote, Ukraine is not interested in taking the territory of the

cursed region, but we want to protect the lives of our people.

They're saying they simply want to make it harder for Russian forces to launch missiles into

their country.

This war has been going on for nearly two and a half years.

All right, okay, getting into sports. Another node on the Olympics this morning.

NBC's viewership numbers have been revealed for the Paris Games.

And they had an average of 30.2 million viewers
