Okay, guys, welcome back. We're in Matthew chapter 19, and we're tackling a

kind of a controversial topic today. So just listen in and let's see what the Bible has to say.

Matthew 19 in verse 1, the Bible says, and it came to pass that when Jesus had finished these sayings, so we've been

talking a lot about the teaching of Jesus. Remember all the red letters we've covered here

in the last chapter. But now in verse number one of chapter 19, when he had finished these

sayings, he departed from Galilee and came into the coasts of Judea

beyond Jordan. So if you were to look at a Bible map today and look at Judea, which is the region

where Jerusalem is, the lower part of Israel, just to the west of the Dead Sea, and you were to go

toward the Dead Sea, like toward Jericho, and get to the Jordan River, which actually empties

into the Dead Sea. The other side of that is a region that was called Perea. Now, today it's part of the country of Jordan,

but it was called Perea. In fact, Amman, Jordan today is in biblical Perea. And Jesus went to this area.
