It's Wednesday, February 1st, and this is your morning wire afternoon update.

The Federal Reserve enacted its smallest rate hike in nearly a year today by raising its

key interest rate by 0.25%.

This is the eighth hike since March.

The Fed signaled that even though inflation is easing, it remains high enough to require

further rate hikes.

The FBI searched President Biden's Rahoboth Beach Vacation Home Wednesday morning amid

the special counsel's investigation into Biden's handling of classified documents.

The three-and-a-half-hour search reportedly yielded no classified documents, but some

quote, materials and handwritten notes from his time as vice president were taken according

to Biden's team.

Bob Bauer, Biden's personal attorney, said that the search was, quote, conducted with

the president's full support in cooperation.

With some, like Republican Senator Charles Barrasso, are demanding answers.

People smell a rat.

He needs to come clean.

I'll tell you, the Senate Intelligence Committee has been stone-walled by this administration.

The president has to tell the American people what's going on, explain himself.
