It's Wednesday, November 9, and this is your morning wire afternoon update.

In a follow-up to this morning's episode, projected winners have still not been called

in key Senate races in Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada as control of the U.S. Senate hangs

in the balance.

In Georgia, Senator Rafael Warnaque will officially head to a runoff on December 6 against GOP

challenger Herschel Walker.

In Arizona, GOP candidate Blake Masters has not been counted out yet in his race against

Democratic candidate Mark Kelly.

In Nevada, incumbent Senator Democrat Catherine Cortez-Masto is trailing GOP candidate Adam

Lacksault.

But the New York Times reported that election officials in Nevada say they have been flooded

by thousands of mail-in ballots, and that it may take several days to count the votes

and upload the results.

Meanwhile, Wisconsin Republican Senator Ron Johnson has claimed victory in his close

election against Democrat challenger Mandela Barnes.

As for the governor's races, in Arizona, Democrat Katie Hobbs and Republican Kerry Lake remain

in a tight contest as counting continues.

Both candidates had about 50 percent of the vote with 70 percent of the vote counted.

Final results are expected by the end of the week.

In Nevada, Republican candidate for Governor Joe Lombardo was ahead of Democrat Steve Cicillac

by about five points as of midday Wednesday.
