He was praying in a certain place, and after he had finished one of his disciples said to him,

Lord, teach us to pray as John taught his disciples.

He said to them, when you pray, say, Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.

Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins for we ourselves forgive everyone indebted to us,

and do not bring us to the time of trial.

Today in our reading Luke opens a window for us, we see Jesus at prayer.

Often he withdraws and goes to a quiet place alone.

The disciples ask, Lord, teach us to pray, when you pray, say, Father.

As you settle into prayer, imagine Abba Father running to greet you,

the Father who looks upon you with love.

Know that you are in the presence of God who welcomes you.

You are in the presence of God.
