Here's what you need to know today from around the world.

In Africa today there were several significant events happening.

The Democratic Republic of Congo has a presidential election taking place and the government

is already expressing concerns of election interference.

Meanwhile, we have the rapid support forces claiming control of Rufa,

Wad Madani in the central eastern part of Al Jazeera in Sudan. In Benin, just so people understand, they have now finally

become one of the leading producers of cotton in West Africa and in a very emotional presentation

the agricultural minister actually was crying.

On a more somber note I guess there have been floods and landslides

pinging back to the Republic of Congo as they're undergoing their elections which

have left many people homeless.

Now all of these events are happening, but let's focus on Burkina Faso.
