Here's what you missed today in the world of tech. Some Last Pass users say their master passwords were compromised and then used in blocked

login attempts from unknown IPs. Last Pass blames credential stuffing,

quoting bleeping computer.

Reports of compromised Last Pass master passwords

are streaming in via multiple social media sites

and online platforms including Twitter,

Nico Basko Album told bleeping computer that quote last pass investigated recent reports of

blocked log in attempts and determine the activity is related to fairly common

bot related activity in which a malicious or bad actor attempts to access user accounts, in this case,

last pass, using email addresses and passwords obtained from third party breaches related

to other unaffiliated services. It is important to note that we do not have any indications that accounts

were successfully accessed or that the last past service was otherwise compromised by an

unauthorized party. We regularly monitor for this type of activity and will continue to

take steps designed to ensure that last pass its users and their data remain protected

and secured. Basko Album added, however users receiving these warnings have stated that their

passwords are unique to Last Pass and not used elsewhere.
