0:29.0	Here's what you miss today in the world of tech. Netflix kicked off tech earnings season yesterday reporting Q4 revenue up 12.5% year

0:40.7	The all-important paid user number was up 12.8%, handily beating estimates, and almost
0:46.7	a billion dollars in net income. Wall Street liked it. The stock was up over 13% this morning in trading.
0:54.0	But here's the big headline.
0:55.0	Netflix plans to retire its ad-free basic plan in some countries where ad supported plans are available,
1:01.0	starting with Canada and the UK in Q2 of this year.
1:05.8	So the cheapest ad free plans are going away.
1:09.3	Netflix continues to become cable TV faster than you can think it ironic.
1:14.4	Quoting the verge.
1:15.7	That leaves subscribers with Netflix's $15.49 per month option
1:19.9	as Netflix's cheapest ad-free plan.
1:22.9	Going from 1199 to 1549 per month is a pretty big jump and means there's really no
1:28.4	middle ground for ad-free plans.
1:30.9	Otherwise, subscribers will have to pay $6.99 per month for its
1:34.3	ad supported Basic Plan or $2.99 per month for the premium tier.
