Welcome to the second episode of the syntax podcast. We're

super excited to be talking about web RTC and get user media today and

essentially what that is it's actually not all that new however

Apple iOS 11 recently released or it's about to be released and that was that was

sort of like the last missing link and we're going to be talking about how to access your

webcam how to access your microphone and a new way to sort of send data from

browser to browser which is called web RTC it sort of goes hand-in-hand with with get user media. So I'm going to kick it off.

Hello Scott, welcome. Hey, how's it going? How are you doing? What are you working on these days?

Yeah, working on a bunch of improvements really to the

level up sites, just upgrading everything, the latest versions of Meteor to take

advantage of some of the sweet code splitting and bundle packaging they get going on right now.

Changing up routing, moving off of a sort of an older meteor router to React router 4, throwing in some server side rendering in there

just basically a bunch of just nice little updates. What about you?

Awesome. I just finished up the the big rewrite of 2017. I previously only had

fixed amount coupons and then I also didn't have the ability to restrict a coupon

by by product. So what was happening is that like sometimes I would have these

like really big coupons for people who needed like 50 bucks off of the team license because

for whatever reason they needed to bring it down by one person and people were finding them just by like guessing what the

coupons were and then using it so I had a couple people check out

with like a $2.00.
