Summary
2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows. 3 And I know that this man was caught up into paradise—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows— 4 and he heard things that cannot be told, which man may not utter. 5 On behalf of this man I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except of my weaknesses— 6 though if I should wish to boast, I would not be a fool, for I would be speaking the truth; but I refrain from it, so that no one may think more of me than he sees in me or hears from me. 7 So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations,[a] a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

| 0:26.8 | from the book of Second Corinthians chapter 12. |
| 0:30.0 | And this is the Apostle Paul speaking |
| 0:32.3 | about one of his experiences and one of the many |
| 0:35.4 | lessons that the Lord Jesus taught him through the experience. |
| 0:40.4 | In this lesson, I'm just going to lay it out there at the beginning, is about humility. |
| 0:45.2 | It's about the value of humility. |
| 0:48.1 | You see sometimes we'll speak of ourselves being humbled, and we say it somewhat with a sense of regret that it had to happen because |
| 0:56.6 | humbling is not always a pleasant experience especially when we have a lot of |
| 1:01.6 | self-sufficiency and pride that's kind of resisting it. |
| 1:04.8 | But Paul did not see humility that way and the reason he didn't is because of |

| 1:15.4 | read this in second Corinthians chapter 12 and Paul says I know a man in Christ |

| 1:27.0 | Now let me just stop for a moment. There's all kinds of things in this description. |
| 1:31.0 | We don't fully understand. We don't know exactly what Paul means by some of these things like the third heaven because it's not spoken of anywhere else in scripture |
| 1:40.0 | but we do need to recognize that the apostle Paul led by the Holy Spirit |
