Summary

DUAL PODCAST ALERT: On this episode of On 1, I'm doing a dual podcast with ”This Moment” hosted by influential musical artist Jason Diakite and internationally renowned Chef Marcus Samuelsson (if you’re like me you’ve been to Red Rooster in Harlem!). A month after this historic election, we discuss the Black women who saved democracy, the incoming Biden administration, and what President-elect Biden needs to do after we won this election for him! You know I also had to ask a couple of questions about cooking. We even debate sweet potato souffle vs. good ol candied yams!

hosted by influential music artist Jason, Diakite and internationally renowned chef Marcus Samuelson. We discussed the new Biden administration, the power of black women, what unifying the country looks like and of course cooking. For those that don't know I'm a huge fan of chef Marcus's restaurant, Red Rooster in New York so I definitely had to make sure he gave me some culinary advice. Let's get into it.

1:51.0

I just wanted to be more focused on like purpose and mission and not so distracted by food. I feel like sometimes that can be the case especially during COVID like black folks are going to go to comfort right in the food.

2:07.0

The comfort is in the food. So I was like you know what I got to do some different around here because I can't fit my stretch man. Now you know it gets bad when you can't fit the stretch man.

2:19.0

3:09.0

But that doesn't happen in the silo. I don't think any of this happens without the grind that they say Abraham did to make a malroy did and Angela right you are in that group and I I live in New York.

3:27.0
