Teaching texts today, which is Luke 15, 1 through 7.

Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus.

But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered,

this man welcomes sinners and eats with them.

Then Jesus told them this parable.

Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep

and loses one of them.

Doesn't he leave the 99 in the open country

and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?

And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it

on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says,

Rejoice with me, I have found my lost sheep. I tell you that in the same way, there will be more

rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous persons who do not

need to repent. This is the word of the Lord. Have you ever just sort of lost yourself?

I've gotten lost so many times in my life. In fact, I have this reputation among my friends

that when it comes to directions,

I am overconfident and underskilled. So I have this terrible combination of this proclivity to get

lost, but also the ability to feel 1,000% confident about the direction I'm heading in, as I do.

And I have on multiple occasions not only gotten

myself lost, but also I have this like air about me where people would just like follow me.

And maybe it's my certainty, but I've gotten not only myself, but entire groups of people who

put their trust in me lost. One time I accidentally entered a country that I did not fully intend to be in.
