They have a prequel these storylines all have a prequel dating back to before and during World War II

when an alter right authoritarian movement tried to steer our nation toward an alliance with the Nazis.

My guest today and I'm very excited about this is Rachel Mad-O, New York Times best-selling author and host of the Emmy Award winning the Rachel Mad-Al show on MSMBC, my colleague. I look, that this is, this is exciting for a whole number of reasons

because I don't know if you planned this, but your book lines up so perfectly with all the crap that's going on in the world that it is I mean the the title of it prequel kind of gets us into a lot of stuff but I have to say just let folks know I told Rachel before we came on that I was reading this book and it scared the but Jesus out of me it was just on so many levels and I know that was not the intent but it is it is something that just kind of as you're reading

as you're like, oh my God, there are so many parallels to the day. So let me

just kind of set the day. So let me let me just kind of set the stage so folks coming into this will understand exactly what prequel is about it and I loved it because when I was even reading

some of the notes on it,

you could just take out Rachel,

the words from the 1930s and put 2023 and you wouldn't miss a beat because the book is really about preserving American democracy.
