At that time, I was graduating college, moving to a new city for my first job, and getting engaged.

funded retirement? And because my wife and I have hopes and goals and dreams to build our own house and we're done having kids start a business and would it make more sense to save that same money but outside of a retirement account where we really can't get to until we're old.
