It's just handed to me. If you're a parent, you can smell about 90% of your kids are lying to you. Let's just handed to me.

Yeah, it is amazing.

But here's a trick, according to UK researchers.

That liars who have to multitask are much easier to expose.

The idea is that lying requires more mental energy than telling the truth.

That's interesting.

Oh, yeah, that's clearly true.

So giving an additional unrelated task to think about makes it more of a struggle to maintain a lie.

Wow.

Wow. This rings true. So how would I apply that? You'd say, yeah, I want to talk to you about how the, to cite a particularly idiotic sitcom example. I want to talk to you about how the cookie jar got broken while we clean this chair.

Or I don't know.

I'm trying to think what would be a task that would take at least minimal mental energy.
