editor Noah Rothman, hi Noah, hi John, so we are back to COVID being the dominating

story of the moment with the elections results actually starting to recede into the rear

view mirror a bit. I note that Hugh Hugh at this morning my old friend and loyal

melearist in all ways about Trumpism and Trump and the Trump administration and the Trump

White House and the prospects of the Republican party has thrown in the towel on Twitter this

morning and said that Biden is one the election and that there's no way for Trump to catch

up. Decision desk has called Arizona for Biden not surprisingly and so if Hugh is saying

that is a leading indicator that the title wave is about to crash over the delusional idea

that Trump can somehow overturn the results of the election and this is all happening at

a time when from everything we can see the second wave is genuinely upon us in COVID we're

talking about hundreds of thousands of cases a day and while it appears that the mortality

rate is nowhere near what it was in the spring nonetheless simple math would indicate that

if we're seeing some kind of exponential spread obviously at some point the deaths are going

to start growing maybe not exponentially but at least arithmetically and that of course

has real world consequences a what's going on here in New York I'm not mentioning New York

again people say we're always in New York centric and I'm only mentioning New York because we

of course have an activist government in relation to COVID that could be viewed as a kind of leading edge.
