I'm Carly Waisal, and I am honored and excited to be coming to you,

hopefully during your free Thanksgiving travels,

whether you are traveling by train, taking a road trip on an airplane.

I hope this episode will just give you a little something fun to listen to

while you are in transit,

and just kind of, you know, like maybe

mentally calm you down before a possible home family stressful situation. A lot of people

go through it. I'm here with you and hopefully I will keep your spirits up. By the time you

listen to this, I will be on an airplane myself coming back to L.A. Because we go to Mexico every year. This is our family vacation. When Ben and I had Pearl, we were like, okay, we're starting a tradition. We're doing it now. We go, we go every year. We went the first year and we're obsessed with it. And now this is our third time there. We stay in the same hotel room at the same hotel. I didn't used to understand why older people did that. Now I get it. Now I get it. I know exactly what I'm taking an airplane towards. And I'm pretty delighted by it. It is the opposite of my, I mean, travel is my job. Vacation is my full-time beat as a journalist. So this is so lovely because I couldn't tell you where

the hotel is. I don't even know what town it is. I know no details. Ben books the whole thing.

I show up. We are there. We sit for a few days. It takes me about three days to really give

into relaxing. I don't like to relax. Mm-mm. I like to be just like within myself around the world

showcase walking as much as possible. So I chill. It takes like three to four days to chill out. And then about 30 hours before you fly home, I'm like, wait, no, I'm now enjoying myself. And that's what has happened every year in the past. And I feel like will happen this year. Do I get a tan? Probably not. I'm probably not going to get a tan, but I will

eat my weight in guacamole that I can tell you. Thanksgiving is an exciting holiday. If you like

food, which I do. We now pick up food from a restaurant, which has been so clutch in recent years.

A few years ago, we did do a sort of like

potluck situation in L.A. All different, like a bunch of different people cooked food. It was so

delicious. It was so delicious. I was just like eating mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese

for four days, just like fully bliss out. It was really like I remember feeling so much joy

...
