She is hoping to build a collection of recorders, the equivalent of two class sets, for use in her 3rd and 4th grade music classes. A recorder is the most cost efficient, most accessible first instrument for a child to learn the basics of rhythmic and musical notation skills that can be carried for a lifetime.
