engaged in 10 minute conversations, some with their cell phones present and

some without their cell phones present. Besides the obvious distraction the presence of the phones brought on,

the researchers noted that the phone's presence fed a constant urge to seek out information,

check for communication, and direct their thoughts to other people and other worlds.
