Good morning, everyone, and welcome back to another Mornings with the Masters. We're

0:14.6

devoting ourselves to the Lord, Ely, with you. Good morning, you guys. Good morning, indeed.

0:18.9

We are picking up with day five of our renamed devotional. In the Bible app, there's a link

0:23.3

to that in the description if you guys want to follow along with us. And as always, I'm

0:26.5

going to read the scripture than Tori's going to pick up the divo. Let's do it. The scripture is

0:30.1

first John chapter three versus one through two. And it says this, see how very much our father

0:37.9

loves us for he calls us his children. And that is what we are. But the people who belong to this

The devotional is titled no longer orphans. And it says this, the idea of any child being

1:09.2

1:31.2

orphans searching desperately for a home. We have been given a new identity. We are now called

1:37.6

at children of God. Being children of God means God is our father. And he loves us unconditionally.

1:46.2

In God's family, we begin to develop his mannerisms and characteristics. As adopted children,

1:52.8

we are to imitate God our father by doing and saying what he does and says. Just like a child

2:00.9

imitates his or her parents, we are called to be and act increasingly more like our Heavenly Father

2:08.9

every day. This transformation happens as we spend time with God and come to know him better.

2:16.1

When people look at your life, can they tell you are a child of God? Can they see the characteristics

2:22.6

of Christ in you? How hard would they have to look to find anything that ties you to him?
