So we have had a wild ride since you and I last spoke, which I think was a week ago today,

as I recall, and on the stock market and a the

stock market is not the economy but b the stock market has a hell of a lot of

influence on the economy as we all saw in 2007 2008 or 2008 2009 I guess

uh... the earth you know what what is going on here what are your thoughts on this and

what do you see happening and and what do you

think we should do about it

well uh... it's a little bit of uh... the old joke about deja vu all over again let's remind everybody we had a boom

in the 1990s that ended up with the crash in the year 2000, what we call the dot-com crash. A panicked

United States government rushed in to try to prevent that panic from becoming a

depression, pumped up the money supply, dropped the interest rates, and we thought

wrongly that we were out of the woods.
