in on some of the latest developments in the ongoing COVID narrative. Despite case numbers rebounding, again, the idea of reintroducing protections is absolutely

not on the table.

For example, New York State set a new record for itself with over 7,000 cases reported

on April 18th, which is higher than the highest peak of any day during

the entire Delta surge. And the United States mask mandate on transportation ended this week

after an absolutely threadbare and logically ridiculous ruling from a judge in Tampa, Florida.

And the crux of the debate is really revolving around

masking. And it has been since the CDC changed its community transmission level system in late

February, changing a bunch of counties to low risk and not recommending masking until hospitals

start to fill up. And just like clockwork, as masks come off and cases started to go up,

and now with the travel season about to be in full swing, unmasked American travelers will be

bringing cases all over the place in the coming weeks. Yeah, I recently went back to the

Biden administration's national COVID preparedness plan, which was released with much fanfare by Jeff Zions and one of his last moves for the administration earlier this year.

And the way that they talk about masking in that document is really Chef's Kiss consultant language because they're saying, look, goal one of the administration is to protect against
