I once did a short Rule Breaker Investing podcast called We've Met the Enemy.

Following the June 2017 Congressional Baseball game shooting,

which took place just a few minutes from Fool HQ.

The events of this week, and really the past few weeks,

have put me in a similar state of mind, sad, frustrated, inquisitive.

The reason I called that podcast, We Have Met The Enemy,

is because the following line is and he is us.

It was from Pogo Cartoon Creator Walt Kelly.

It first appeared on a poster on Earth Day in 1970.

We have met the enemy and he is us. This is my way of pointing out that

we are all complicit. We all share in the blame when things go really wrong in a democracy.

People outside democracies are cushioned from the responsibility for the outcomes in their neighborhoods and states

largely because tragically and horrifically they have no real say in the policies

that are thrust upon them.

We in the United States of America have no such excuse.

Today we would have released our May mailbag,

as we did last May, the May before that, and the May's before that, but I'm holding

it back for one day.

For this one hour of one day, I instead would ask you to consider, dear fellow fool, what

single action you could do or word you could say that would help America. Liberty is such an important value that I

think the United States has enabled and protected better than any nation in

history.
