And God has graciously provided us with different means of pursuing this goal.

So our mission statement here at NBC is we glorify God by making disciples

and multiplying churches among all nations

beginning in Greater Washington, D.C.

And today I want us to think about what that first part means.

We glorify God. Because glorify is really a great word when you think about it.

It means to praise or worship something or to represent something as admirable or awesome?

And that is exactly what we want to do together as a church.

We want to praise and worship God. That's why we've gathered together this morning, why we've come together on a Sunday morning and we're singing and we're praying and we're opening

God's word because we want to worship him. We want to hear from him. We want to encounter God together and we want to represent him as

admirable and awesome to the world around us.

Around the city we want family and friends

and neighbors and coworkers and people we meet on the street. and

kids and people we meet on the street and kids and families and Title I schools to know that God is awesome.
