Summary
We get NFL football tonight as the Cowboys play the Eagles. The Giants open with Washington and then play the Cowboys and Gio said they have to win one of those games as they can’t start the season 0-2 with two losses in the division. The NFC East could be a top division if the Giants figure out how to get some wins. We wondered how soon Brian Daboll would try to get Jaxson Dart into games.

| 0:00.0 | Hey everyone, it's Boomer and Gio, and if you're into New York sports or you want straight talk about what's really going on in the sports world, Boomer and Geo is your show. |
| 0:08.3 | We're covering it all. Yankees wins, Giants drama, national headlines, and whatever chaos the day brings on the field and all. |
| 0:15.1 | No filler, no filters, just real conversation and believe me, plenty of laughs every weekday morning. |
| 0:20.8 | We don't hold back and we don't waste your time. We get to what actually matters. That's boomer and geo, and you can listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your pods. That umpire was horrendous and you never hear me complain about that, but that's not necessarily why the Yankees lost. Painful loss. Listen, here's the thing for me, |
| 0:37.9 | though, Sal, it's really been about these 12, it's been about the next 12 games, two of which |
| 0:44.0 | have already happened here, three with Houston, three with Toronto, obviously the Tigers and three |
| 0:47.9 | with the Red Sox. Like, the Yankee fan will not feel good, like completely sold on this team, |
| 0:53.0 | unless they get nine and three or eight |
| 0:55.0 | and four, or even better than that, over the next 12 games. But see, I don't, I don't have the same |
| 1:00.6 | mindset as most Yankee fans pertaining to this team. The Yankees can lose no more games the rest |
| 1:06.9 | of the way against these very good teams that they'll see in the playoffs here and go 11 and 1 in totality. And I'm still, I still don't know what to expect. Because think |
| 1:15.2 | about this. We've talked about how much the game has changed and the elements of the Yankees |
| 1:20.3 | that we really believe in and like and the elements that we don't really fully trust. So I, |
| 1:25.2 | I get it. Like, last night stunk because it was, it felt like a playoff game. It's the |
| 1:30.6 | Astros. They're playing better baseball. And they were in control. They had a lead. They |
| 1:34.5 | flustered down the shoot. I don't like Aaron Boone Pull and Will Warren. He had 70 pitches. What are |
| 1:38.9 | doing? So I did not like that. I would criticize Aaron with that. And there were a lot of things |
| 1:43.9 | to unpack. We'll certainly do that here. But I just think that big picture, it doesn't matter. I don't see, let me take that. It doesn't matter that. I don't mean it. It doesn't matter that they didn't win. But the Yankees, really like everybody, will be defined what happens in October. Yeah. It really is that that's what it comes down to. |
| 2:01.3 | The issue that I would have is that, like I said, the feel was, hey, Yankees is going to take the first two here in Houston. They mean business. Things are different now versus last time versus good teams, whatever it may be. And in my mind, I'm starting to think forward to, oh, here we go, Yankees, Blue Jays, Yankees Red Sox like this is what it's about. |
| 2:17.0 | The Yankees are going to show us something different here. |
| 2:18.7 | Now, their loss last night does not take away the fact that Here we go. Yankees, Blue Jays, Yankees, Red Sox. Like, this is what it's about. The Yankees are going to show us something different here. |
| 2:18.7 | Now, their loss last night does not take away the fact that they still could be the best team in the American League. |
